Whilst the wine world becomes dominated by fewer but bigger players and the personality of the trade is threatened, the Negociants UK team aims to provide superior service, knowledge and friendship in the UK wine trade. Our commitment to being recognised as the most respected merchant of fine, New World wines remains absolute.
For Robert and Sam Hill Smith, owners of Yalumba and the export/import arm - Negociants, the driving emotion is an appreciation of the good fortune to have been born into Australian wine, alongside a responsibility to leave a legacy and the desire to make a difference. Both have a clear vision for their family business "to remain family owned and to be recognised internationally as the finest independent winemaker in Australia".
Family ownership entitles the company to the privilege of taking a long-term view and choosing a path which positions it as a serious participant in the wine world. "Confidence through success, authority through learning, a little humility and plenty of humour. These are the philosophies that will continue to drive Yalumba into the future," says Robert Hill Smith.
Negociants International has become one of the world's pre-eminent premium wine exporters, with branch offices in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand.
Negociants International is the export department of Australia's oldest family owned winery, Yalumba. We are fortunate to represent a number of key brands in export markets including: Yalumba, Henschke, Jim Barry, Vasse Felix, Giaconda, Redbank, Rockford, Jansz Tasmania, Nautilus Estate and Twin Islands. We work with a fantastic team of international partners who distribute these brands throughout the world.
Negociants International is based in Angaston, a small town in the Barossa Valley, home of the Hill Smith family and Yalumba wines.
